Chief Executive Officer – Janet Simm
As Chief Executive Officer, Janet is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Shoreham. It is her aim to fulfill the organization’s mission, vision and values and ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care possible. Janet is committed to helping individuals, families and communities experience optimal health and success. She has a reputation for working collaboratively and keeping the needs of those being served at the centre of her work.
In 2014, Janet became President and CEO for Northwood. Before joining Northwood, she was Vice President Health Services at the South Shore District Health Authority. Earlier positions were with the Health Association of Nova Scotia; the Continuing Care Branch of the Nova Scotia Department of Health; and VON Canada (NS Branch).
Janet is a Registered Nurse and received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree (With Distinction) from Dalhousie University. She believes in continuing education and is presently completing her Master of Health Administration at Dalhousie on a part time basis.

Director of Food & Nutrition Services – Kaila Saunders
As Manager of Food & Nutrition Services and Clinical Dietitian, Kaila Saunders is responsible for high quality nutritious meals for Shoreham’s 90 residents.
In her management role Kaila directs, supervises and coordinates all activities in the Food and Nutrition Department. As the Clinical Dietitian she is responsible for meeting the residents’ nutritional needs through menu planning and development, nutritional and dysphagia assessments and reviews.

Manager of Recreation and Volunteer Services – Linda Bell
As Director of Recreation and Volunteer Services, Linda Bell is Shoreham’s “jack of all trades” and is in daily contact with residents. She coordinates and oversees a lively and holistic recreational program for residents to enhance their overall quality of life. These activities are made possible through the support of her team of Recreation programmers and more than 150 trained volunteers.
Linda believes in life-long learning and has been with Shoreham Village for more than 35 years, following the completion of her CCA nursing course. Since that time, she has continued her professional development by studying Recreation Programming at Mount Saint Vincent University. Given her long service with Shoreham Village, Linda is a familiar face to residents, staff, friends and family.

Manager of Resident Care – Kim Croft
The Manager of Resident Care leads the nursing staff of Shoreham Village in providing excellent and respectful care for residents while supporting them in maintaining their independence. They also oversee the Clinical Nursing program, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Infection Control and the Palliative Care program. The manager collaborates with all departments in providing quality services to the residents at Shoreham. The role includes a focus on continuous quality improvement, resident and employee satisfaction, risk management, fiscal management, internal communication and health and safety.

Director of Support Services – Gaye Ernst
As Director of Support Services at Shoreham Village, Gaye Ernst makes sure that Shoreham is well maintained, clean and safe. She ensures the home meets industry and provincial standards for best practice and most importantly the needs of our residents. She oversees the environmental services, laundry and maintenance teams. Gaye also chairs the Emergency Planning Committee, which ensures safety procedures and related training are in place.
Gaye came to Shoreham in 1989 after completing her training as a medical secretary. She began in the Business Office and served as its manager before moving to her current position in 2007.

Coordinator of Staff Development – Linda Sears-Doucet
As Coordinator of Staff Development, Linda Sears-Doucet will work with the staff at Shoreham to identify and deliver training required to ensure that we provide the best care possible to our residents.
Linda Sears-Doucet, brings 28 years of nursing experience to her new part-time position as Coordinator of Staff Development. Linda will be with us every Tuesday and Friday and every second Thursday.
