Chief Executive Officer - Charbel Daniel

Charbel Daniel brings a wealth of experience and a passion for leadership to the role of CEO for Shoreham Village. With a strong background in healthcare, Charbel has a proven track record of driving growth, fostering innovation, and building high-performing teams.

Before joining Shoreham, Charbel held a key leadership position at Emergency Medical Care Inc., the sole ambulance provider for the province of Nova Scotia, where they spearheaded strategic initiatives and led transformative projects that delivered exceptional results. Known for his collaborative approach and commitment to excellence, Charbel is dedicated to advancing Northwood Care’s mission of providing outstanding care and support to the community.

Charbel holds a Master of Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University, and a Diploma in Paramedicine from the Maritime School of Paramedicine. Charbel is also the author of the book “The Problem with Solutions,” which explores how organizations can create lasting and meaningful solutions to long-standing issues without generating new problems. Outside of work, Charbel enjoys spending quality time with their spouse and three children, embodying a belief in a balanced and fulfilling life.

With a vision for the future and a deep respect for Shoreham's legacy, Charbel is excited to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and success.

Manager of Food & Nutrition Services – Melissa Houghton

As Manager of Food & Nutrition Services and Clinical Dietitian, Melissa Houghton is responsible for high quality nutritious meals for Shoreham's 90 residents.

In her management role Melissa directs, supervises and coordinates all activities in the Food and Nutrition Department. As the Clinical Dietitian she is responsible for meeting the residents' nutritional needs through menu planning and development, nutritional and dysphagia assessments and reviews.

Manager of Recreation and Volunteer Services – Niki Rodenhizer 

As Manager of Recreation and Volunteer Services, Niki Rodenhizer is Shoreham's "jack of all trades" and is in daily contact with residents. She coordinates and oversees a lively and holistic recreational program for residents to enhance their overall quality of life. These activities are made possible through the support of her team of Recreation programmers and more than 150 trained volunteers.

Nursing Services Manager – Emily Johnston-Smith

The Nursing Services Manager leads the nursing staff of Shoreham Village in providing excellent and respectful care for residents while supporting them in maintaining their independence. They also oversee the Clinical Nursing program, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, Infection Control and the Palliative Care program. The manager collaborates with all departments in providing quality services to the residents at Shoreham. The role includes a focus on continuous quality improvement, resident and employee satisfaction, risk management, fiscal management, internal communication and health and safety.

Manager of Staffing and Care Support – Anita Wilwand

The Manager of Staffing and Care Support is responsible for daily staffing and advance planning. She oversees the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy program. She collaborates with all departments in providing quality services to the residents at Shoreham. The role includes a focus on resident and employee satisfaction, and safety.

Manager of Support Services – Gaye Ernst

As Manager of Support Services at Shoreham Village, Gaye Ernst makes sure that Shoreham is well maintained, clean and safe. She ensures the home meets industry and provincial standards for best practice and most importantly the needs of our residents. She oversees the environmental services, laundry and maintenance teams. Gaye also chairs the Emergency Planning Committee, which ensures safety procedures and related training are in place.

Gaye came to Shoreham in 1989 after completing her training as a medical secretary. She began in the Business Office and served as its manager before moving to her current position in 2007.
