Shoreham Village is engaged in a strategic partnership with Northwood Group of Companies. The partnership provides Shoreham with access to Northwood’s clinical team, human resource personnel, policy and program development expertise, occupational health resources and other supports as required. The objective of the partnership is to find efficiencies in operating costs by reducing duplication in management and administrative functions and focusing resources on resident care. Shoreham maintains its unique identity and continues to be governed by its Board of Directors, while benefiting from the resources available through the larger organization. This new agreement builds on the strategic partnership entered by Shoreham and Northwood in October 2014, which offered Shoreham access to Northwood’s clinical, human resource and operational expertise.
Northwood’s Head Office is located in Dartmouth and has facilities and services in Halifax and Bedford. Northwood Group of Companies serves over 6,500 clients daily, providing various programs and services in long term care, residential care, assisted living, seniors’ housing, adult day programming, home care and community outreach initiatives. Northwood has over 1,600 staff, 500 volunteers and was recognized as one of Atlantic Canada’s and Nova Scotia’s best employers in 2014 and 2015.
